This organization is doing wonderful work. We had a great experience adopting a dog here just recently. The process was easy. The animals here are treated with love and respect. Our dog had been neutered, vaccinated, and treated with flea & tick medication prior to adoption. Would recommend coming to their open house events to find your next pet.
I went to the Humane Society because my dog was lost. The guy at the gate with the tattoos was super nice. I was helped inside by Danielle who went on the Nextdoor App and found my dog who happened to be at one of my neighbors house! She was an angel that day and I can't thank her enough.
Great place. I wish they would have room for more animals though 😸 …
Everyone was very nice. They need Donations of BLANKETS, TOWELS, STAMPS, DOG IGLOOS 🐕
and VOLUNTEERS to walk the dogs and hold the cats 🐈
Also BED FLAT SHEETS. …
The lady who answered the phone should know the difference between feral & stray cats. I called to ask if there was room for a kitten at the shelter. She told me I should “put it back,” referring to the kitten that was abandoned in a shopping center. There is no mother cat that “left her kitten but will be back.” This 2 month old or so kitten is very friendly and prior had human interaction. Her suggestion was insulting and incompassionate.
On April 29th, 2023, my brother drove me down to Vallejo, CA to look at some of the adoptable dogs due to my disabled handicapped status. The staff and volunteers were very kind and considerate toward me. Sure enough, it didn't take long for me to choose the "one"❤ I couldn't leave behind. The adoption coordinator "Jem", was open, honest and pleasant despite her many radio calls to attend to various needs presented by her staff. She allowed me the time I needed to solidify my choice without pressuring me one way or the other. And yes, ....I took my little Freya, a Dachshund home. I've had her just over one week and I won't part with her for anything. From the bottom of my heart, "THANK YOU HUMANE SOCIETY of the NORTH BAY!
Yours is a hard, complicated job of caring for abandoned, PTSD scared, sometimes abused animals, tending to their needs, comforting them as much as possible, and to top it off, trying to accommodate a demanding public who expects the "very best" from you. God Bless all of you, ..... staff, volunteers and patrons. Without your existence, I would not have my beautiful little girl. You have my love, prayers and support for life. You will be one of my charities!
Valerie, Peggie, and Chris were invaluable in helping get this amazing, beautiful beast! Great facility that truly cares about their animals.
I came in with a cat that was left of the street. You're under quarantine, so you can't take it. Then, when you give me the phone list to call animal control or the animal shelter. The animal control person said that he can't take the cat, and then the Solano County Animal Shelter won't take her either. These numbers don't work, and the only thing left to do is to let it go back on the streets because as you said they're "free rooming animals". Even if this cat was a house cat...... That's messed up. Merry Christmas.
